DoubleTree by Hilton Boston Bayside

For the price of the room parking ($27 pd in an open outdoor lot) and breakfast should have been included. Breakfast was expensive. The lobby was nice. Complimentary lemon water, but no coffee. The beds were small but comfortable. The bathroom could be updated and the air conditioner was loud.

The location is right next to the T which is great. Check-in was easy. Free cookies is wonderful and a nice touch. The airport shuttle was a big plus but I would have saved an hour of waiting if I'd been told the true nature of how it worked. The shuttle runs once an hour and if I'd known where the pickup location was I would have saved an hour. I was told to reserve a spot on the shuttle and also to contact the driver directly when I was ready for pickup. This is NOT how it worked. The breakfast was overpriced and so were 12 oz. sodas- $5.00! All the other comparable hotels I stayed at in New England had complimentary breakfast and sodas for $2.00. Overall, I would recommend and would stay here again.

We chose this place because it fell under our price range. The room was fine, it was clean. The view wasn't great and the bed was softer than I'd like it. If you want to be close to shops and restaurants, this is not the place. There was no soap by the sink. I understand if the hotel wants to get rid of having to deal with used soap but at least replace it with liquid soap so I don't have to keep pumping the soap from the shower. The "cafeteria" was not good at all. We checked out around 10am on a Monday and on the baked goods side they only had one really doughy butter croissant and 6 muffins left. Really not impressed. If we do go back to Boston, we will definitely not be staying here again, especially for the price they charge.
